Hi! I really hope you enjoy this book! I wrote it to help teach/remind children (and adults) of the importance of adopting pets from rescues and/or shelters, vs. buying from a pet store.
REMEMBER: DOGS SOLD AT PET STORES ARE VIRTUALLY ALL FROM PUPPY MILLS!Also, NEVER buy an animal from an Internet ad! These are nearly all from puppy mills, kitty mills, reptile mills, etc., which have horribly inhumane conditions!!If you ever do want to buy a dog from a breeder, do everything possible to ensure it's a reputable one, For example, make sure you can visit in-person and make sure to ask to view ALL of the living spaces where the dogs are kept. If the proprietors only take you to one area, be sure to notice if there are other buildings on the premises and ask to see them as well. If possible, pull up the Google Earth image of the facility to see how many buildings are on the property before you visit. Puppy mill owners are sneaky, greedy, and evil, so do not underestimate their capacity for deceit!!
